WORSHIP AND WORK

Lots of people have drawn refreshment from the revival of Christian music and song over the last 15 years or so. Christians know that worshiping God is something that Christians just do. But like with any other good thing, we may tend to put it into a 'box' on its own. Doing that would be inconsistent with the all-encompassing nature of our faith, and could obscure why our work matters to God.

True worship happens every time you or I act in a way that honors God and restates our accountability to Him. Worship becomes two-way communication that both helps us to trust God and to grow in trust.

The Bible says that we can worship all day by obeying God and doing our daily duties in a spirit of trust and thanksgiving.

Some examples:

Worship as thanksgiving: When Abraham's servant searched for and found a suitable wife for Isaac, "I bowed my head and worshiped the Lord and blessed the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me by the right way" (Genesis 24:48).
